How to deal with low temperature startup in winter?

 

 

Method 1: Removal of moisture in the air pipe

Air equipment may freeze if a lot of moisture remains in the piping.
The silencer in the exhaust port of the valve is a point prone to freezing due to adiabatic expansion* during exhaust. 
It is difficult to remove moisture with an air filter, so we recommend installing an air dryer!
(*The temperature of the gas drops when the compressed air is released to the atmosphere. If the air contains a lot of moisture, it will freeze around the silencer when it is exhausted.)
 

Method 2: Heat/insulate the valve itself

(1) Heat the compressed air itself with a heater
(2) Heat the valve with a ribbon-shaped electric heating wire heater
(3) Irradiate the bulb with an incandescent bulb
(4) Cover the valve with insulation
 

 

Method 3: Exchange to DM2® D Series

Compared to the conventional cross flow type (CF) and parallel flow type (PF) operating environment temperature of 4 to 50°C, the operating environment temperature of the DM2 ® D series is -10 °C to 50 °C . More stable operation can be expected by switching to the DM2®D series .

 

 

Method 4: * Modification to O- ring specifications

For large valves (IN-OUT pipe diameter 1-1/4 to 1-1/2 inch )
The main piston seal (U-cup) is for the DM2 ® D series .
O- rings ( usable from -10 °C) can be used.
By replacing and remodeling the piston seal, you can expect more stable operation.
